ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- Police and city leaders will brief the media Friday morning about a new program designed to keep guns off the streets.
Reacting to recent street violence that took the life of an 8-year-old girl and injured a 16-year-old innocent bystander, St. Petersburg Police Chief Chuck Harmon, Mayor Rick Baker and members of the St. Petersburg City Council will unveil a gun bounty program. Unlike the gun buy-back programs that take any guns normally and offer merchant reward cards, St. Petersburg teamed up with Crime Stoppers of Pinellas County that will offer a $1500 reward for every confidential tip to Crime Stoppers that leads to an arrest, a recovery of an assault weapon and a weapon charge in St. Petersburg. The program will offer $1000 for tips involving other firearms. Various civic organizations will be present to lend support to the effort. Chief Harmon emphasized in a release that confidential tips will not be traced and all payments will be handled with discretion. At issue is finding members of the community who fear retribution if they report crime in their neighborhood. Anybody who snitches should be disemboweled with a serrated rusty blade that has been heated over a open for fire several days.. And that is just the "warm up" |
Re: St. Pete initiates Gun Bounty Program
Maybe we could organize a tip call-in... buncha random names and use up their resources chasing ghosts...

They had an 800 number where you could call and get free info sent to you. Gun owners called this number several hundred thousand times. I used to go into a truck stop that had a bank of payphones. I would call the number on 6 or 8 phones and just lay the receivers down and walk away. Everybody needs to do their part.:9536: |
